The Symbolism Of Othello By William Shakespeare - 958 Words
Among the many things that we own in our lifetime, there is always something that is special to us whether itââ¬â¢s a generational piece or jewelry passed down from grandparents or parents. That particular piece is significantly special because it carries a unique meaning that one can only understand. I received an old picture necklace from my grandma before she passed away with monstrous disease, cancer. The necklace carried a picture of my grandma when she was about my age. That necklace is the only tangible memory I have of my grandma. There are no words that can describe how much the necklace mean to me and I will treasure it as long as I live. In William Shakespeareââ¬â¢s play, Othello, the symbolism of Desdemonaââ¬â¢s handkerchief is central to the playââ¬â¢s tragic dà ©nouement. The handkerchief serves a very important role in shaping the story to the way it is, it ultimately becomes the reason for Othelloââ¬â¢s brutal murder of his wife, Desdemona. In addition , the handkerchief is shown as a symbol of ââ¬Å"different things from various events in this playâ⬠(Othello). In the first, it is shown as a symbol of Othelloââ¬â¢s token of love for Desdemona. In the second, it symbolizes a marital fidelity between the couple, but later became a significant pivotal point for Desdemonaââ¬â¢s death. The significance of the handkerchief in Othello is a symbol of love between Othello and Desdemona. This item is distinct in design, which is a white, and dotted with strawberry images.
